How to turn your best tour and activity offerings into high-performing Packages
Sell more with less effort, thanks to Packages.

Great news — there’s now an easier way to increase revenue and get more value from every booking. Packages are here!
This new feature gives you a fast, flexible way to turn your top experiences into curated offerings your customers will love.
From seasonal promotions to retail add-ons and family-friendly bundles, Packages make it simple to build irresistible products that stand out in the booking flow — and easily sell themselves. All while helping you grow your revenue with tools you already use.
What are Packages?
Packages are part of the Combos feature in FareHarbor. They allow you to bundle two items — like two experiences, or an experience plus a retail add-on — into a single product that customers must purchase together. These packages are shown directly in the booking flow, giving you a high-visibility way to promote curated offerings.
And the model works: Operators using the Combos feature (which Packages are built on) see a 26% increase in multi-item orders year over year. That means bundling related offerings can be a powerful way to drive more value from each customer booking.
What’s the difference between Combos and Packages?
Packages are built on FareHarbor’s Combos feature, but with one key difference: Packages require customers to book both items together as a bundled experience.
With standard Combos, customers can pick and choose which add-ons to include in their booking. With Packages, both items are automatically included in a single, pre-set offer.
When to use each:
- Use Packages to create curated, bundled experiences — like a full-day itinerary, a tour plus lunch, or a family activity combo — where both items are booked together every time. Packages are ideal for guiding customers toward a specific experience or simplifying the booking decision.
- Use Combos to offer flexible upsells that customers can choose from during checkout — like adding gear rentals, gift cards, or optional activities to a main tour. Combos are great for offering add-ons across your inventory without requiring them to be purchased together.
How to make the most of your Packages
Packages aren’t just operational tools — they’re powerful marketing assets. By presenting your experiences as themed bundles, you can:
- Offer more value to your customers without adding new inventory
- Create urgency around limited-time offers
- Highlight experiences in a new, engaging way
- Encourage larger purchases at the point of booking
Think of them as ready-made promotions that work across your website, emails, ads, and social content — all while being fully integrated into your booking flow!
Smart ways to use Packages
Here are a few real-world examples of how Packages can boost customer interest and increase your average booking value.
Seasonal promotions
Bundle your most popular summer activities, holiday events, or shoulder-season tours into themed packages with a limited-time discount.
Retail add-ons
Pair tours with high-margin retail items, like branded gear, souvenirs, or equipment, to increase your per-customer revenue without adding operational complexity.
Family-friendly combos
Create bundled experiences tailored to families — like pairing a tour with a kid-friendly activity or meal — to appeal to groups booking together.
How to make them sell
The success of a Package often comes down to presentation. With the right name, price point, and positioning, you can turn a simple bundle into a high-performing product.
- Name and price them strategically: Choose clear, compelling names that highlight the value of the bundle. You can also consider offering a small discount to increase the perceived savings and encourage the higher spend.
- Use strong visuals and storytelling: Bring your Packages to life with engaging photos and descriptions that show the full experience. Position it as a can’t-miss opportunity!
- Feature them in your marketing: Don’t just rely on visibility in the booking flow — include your Packages on landing pages, email campaigns, and digital ads. The more places you promote them, the more likely customers are to book.
